Fall 2007 - Our 50th Anniversary Celebration!
The Delta Delta chapter celebrated its 50th Anniversary on the University of Arkansas campus this past November with a weekend of special events. The Delta Delta chapter of Alpha Delta Pi first colonized on the U of A campus back on November 15th, 1957. Since then, 50 wonderful years of Alpha classes have made their mark on the sorority and campus. Alumnae members of the chapter arrived on Friday, November 16th, to help celebrate with Decades Parties for each decade of Alpha Classes. On Saturday, Alumnae members and chapter members were treated to brunch and remininscing, followed by campus tours for our beloved Alumnae. That night, we all enjoyed a wonderful Black Diamond event with dinner and dancing in cocktail attire. Many of our chartering members attended the festivities, including our chapter’s first president, Linda Lou Parchman, along with some International Officers. Sunday morning brought a beautiful Memorial Service for all of our sisters who have passed away. It was a wonderful weekend and a great way for our Alumnae members to reconnect with the place they called home and for our chapter members to hear wonderful stories of our rich and colorful past on campus. Thanks to everyone who was able to attend, and we can’t wait for 50 more years! Pictured here are Chartering President Linda Lou Parchman and Current President Marissa Hawkins.

From Our President
Hi, my name is Marissa Hawkins and I am the Delta Delta Chapter President of Alpha Delta Pi. Many things come to mind when the words Alpha Delta Pi are mentioned. But, what does Alpha Delta Pi mean to me? I had no idea what this organization would do for my life. It has not only given me lifelong friendships, but it has also given me the opportunity to grow as an individual. During the 50th Anniversary celebration, my love for Alpha Delta Pi grew tremendously. I had the wonderful opportunity to meet the former Grand Council Presient, Mrs. Beth Mannle as well as other International Officers. Meeting the Alumnae from Delta Delta chapter of Alpha Delta Pi was an awesome experience too! Our chapter's charter President was in attendance and Linda "Lou" Parchman was so spirited about our chapter. She inspired a lot of our members. During the time of the 50th Anniversary, I was debating running for the office of President. I believe because the Anniversary celebration that I was more enthusiastic about becoming President and it was the persuading factor in my decision. Our chapter has wonderful support from our Alumnae, and I hope we can continue the traditions of Alpha Delta Pi and our chapter for 50 more years. After my collegiate experience in the House I will give back to the house what it has given me, that is my obligation to the Sorority.
